Plant-based milk is super tasty and versatile. Its taste and texture vary depending on what plant it is made from. Here, we pick Head Chef Joe's brain to find out how he makes the most of each option.

☕️ Oat milk is simply fantastic in coffee. It is typically made from just oats and water, and has a creamy consistency. That's why it's his go-to for smoothies 🍌 and coffee (and in anything else when in need of a comfort blanket)

🥣 Almond milk is the cereal one. Not the most environmentally friendly (but still waaaaay better than animal milk), its nutty flavour is great in cereal. Plus, it's low in calories (if you're keeping an eye on that)

👏🏼 Soy milk is a great all-rounder. Made from ground soybeans and water. It works very well as an ingredient in smoothies and pancakes but also baked goods

🧀 Cashew milk is the creamy one with that feel-good boost. A must-have in Joe's kitchen for making things like plant-based cheeses, sauces, and creams

💪🏼 Pea milk is the protein shaker. With the highest protein content of all milk options, it will power your protein shakes or smoothies like a charm!

🥔 Potato milk is the new kid on the plant-based milk shelf. While we love its sustainability credentials (a lot less land and water is needed to grow it compared to milk, oats and nuts), it does lacks in taste.
